As SWANEC, our primary goal is to restore and preserve the natural ecosystem of South Wake County, North Carolina. Numerous invasive plant species currently compete with native plants for nutrients and sunlight in the area. It seems that no matter where we go, we are always surrounded by these invasive plants. From Kudzu covering urban developments to Japanese Stiltgrass blanketing the grounds of forests, it seems like we can’t escape the reign of these plants. Due to this, our goal is to remove these invasive species and plant native species on top of them in order to restore the ecosystem.
